NEW REPORT: America’s Voice Introduces The “ICE Tax” Report, Revealing How ICE-Led Mass Deportation Drives Up Prices, Eliminates Jobs, and Empties Main Streets

Washington, DC – America’s Voice today launched “End the ICE Tax”, a new campaign built around a comprehensive report and website documenting how the Trump administration’s mass deportation agenda is raising prices for everyday Americans, stalling key industries, and draining local economies nationwide. Drawing on four independent lines of evidence, the report reaches the same conclusion from every angle: this agenda carries a steep, measurable cost – and American families, along with communities across the country, are paying it.

The report calls that cost the “ICE Tax”: the price families pay every day because the government is choosing mass deportation led by ICE agents over the economic well-being of everyday Americans. That means higher prices at checkout, jobs that disappear when workers are deported, and Main Street businesses going dark after enforcement sweeps through.

Trump and his Congressional allies have been missing in action when it comes to helping Americans suffering from the impact of soaring prices due to mass deportation. In fact, they have doubled down on their mass purge, which could lead to even greater price shocks for everyday Americans.

Key findings from the report include:

• Prices are rising fastest where immigrant labor is scarcest. Core inflation rose 2.6 percent over the year ending in June 2026, but lettuce jumped 32.1 percent, landscaping 10.8 percent, and whole milk 9.0 percent.

• Construction is slowing and new homes cost more where immigrant labor is needed the most. In the five states most reliant on immigrant labor, construction employment fell 1.3 percent while the rest of the country grew 3.3 percent.

• Home health care is being squeezed just as demand surges. Nearly 40 percent of home health aides are immigrants, and care prices have already climbed 10.7 percent.

• Local economies contract wherever ICE operates. Analysis of thousands of ICE operations shows consumer spending drops 6.2 percent and foot traffic falls 2.7 percent at the average business after enforcement arrives.

The campaign calls on the Trump administration and Congress to reverse course and end the “ICE Tax” by ending the mass deportations that are squeezing American families in every corner of the country.
